Gravesend born, Kent artist Dylan Lloyd captures the very traditional great British gardens in such a fresh and modern way. Whether you are a passionate gardener or someone that just enjoys the peace of a garden, his paintings will transport you to a calm and reflective world, a place of simple pleasure and escape. Inspired by the photographic style, his paintings work with exaggerated depth of field and a pixilated effect created by using semi dry oil paint in thin layers, complemented with fresher more fluid paint for the ‘in focus’ detailed areas, he captures the effect of changing light and the movement of gentle breeze. Dylan has taught in art schools since graduating from Falmouth School of Art in 1994, now living in Dorset, with his family. Dylan says about his work – “it is a documentation of growth, change and development of the direct world around me.”
