He then works over each piece by hand, building layers of paint, texture and varnish to create remarkable depth and movement. Delicate highlights are embedded within these layers,  coming alive as the viewer moves around the artwork. Rather than depicting perfectly formed blooms, Albers embraces the natural imperfections, movement and transience of real flowers. His compositions have an almost underwater quality, with petals and leaves appearing to float within luminous, atmospheric spaces. Every artwork is individually developed with variations in colour, texture and detail, ensuring each piece has its own distinctive character.
