Paul Evans is a British painter, based in Lavenham, Suffolk.
Paul is a renowned painter of landscapes. He has a gift for being able to present nature in all her glory. He tries not just to capture the sight, but also the sounds, smell and ambience of the exact moment in his mind. It’s not just a landscape for Paul, it’s life.
He has painted many breathtaking areas of the British countryside, including the Kent Weald and Sussex Downs. His coastal paintings, from Cornwall and East Anglia, never fail to take the breath away.
Paul Evans’ work aims to transport the viewer to a spot right next to him, surrounded by nature, at one with the world. As his work has progressed, he has moved into more abstract backgrounds, whilst maintaining an exquisite eye for detail of his central subjects. It makes for a striking painting.
Paul Evans’ limited edition prints are signed and hand-embellished with metallic inks and varnished.
Paul on his plans for the future. ‘My aim is to record the landscape and coast of Suffolk through the whole year. I love the dramatic difference between the snow-covered skeleton of the landscape, compared to the lushness of summer.’
