Anna Wright is a Scottish artist and illustrator who grew up exploring the scenic countryside and wildlife of Dumfries and Galloway. Her rural upbringing inspired her characterful works, shaped by her love of drawing, collage, and textile, along with the whimsy she finds in our natural world. Anna explored her rural influences whilst studying at Edinburgh College of Art and has since developed her now trademark approach using Indian ink, fabric, feathers and paint. She now lives back home, where she grew up, and works from her studio, which is a treasure trove of ink pots, fabric scraps, feathers and paint. Animals provide the main focus of her inspiration, and she uses bold inky lines to capture their playfulness and character, incorporating fabric and feathers to bring colour, pattern and texture. Her works often include a witty caption, adding to the joy of the creation.
