Mia Tarney is a British still life artist, specialising in realism with floral subjects. Her flower paintings contain exquisite detail, but still manage to convey feeling and message. Her expertise lies in the use of light, shade, forms and spaces, allowing her to capture the inner essence of the flowers she paints. Painting on a large scale allows her subjects to own the canvas, and the room wherever they’re displayed. The vast canvases, taking up to four months to complete, allows for the most exquisite detail within her work, only intensifying the expression of the subject. Because of the size and detail of her work, they can often take up to four months to complete. With formal training at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in London, Mia has exhibited her work all over the UK. Her inspiration comes from a fascination with flowers, the energy they hold and their ability to be fragile and ethereal, and forceful and impactful at the same time. Mia’s prints are available on a very limited edition basis, beautifully mounted and ready to frame.
