Emilija Pasagic
Emilija was born in the former Yugoslavia. She studied Landscape Architecture at Belgrade University and moved to Ontario, Canada in the 90's with her husband. She currently lives and works in Toronto.
Over the years she has explored many different medias and techniques. She began with silk painting and more recently has been experimenting with the encaustic method. This is an ancient technique where bee's wax and oil paints are blended together to create texture. Various gels and mediums, including gold leaf are added to her pieces, creating unique antique effects. Her creations are detailed, expressive and vibrant and often feature semi-abstract still lives and figures.
Emilijia has a loyal following and her work has been exhibited across Canada and the USA.
