Keith Athay is an established seascape and abstract artist, with over 20 years experience exhibiting his contemporary collages across galleries in the UK and internationally. Affectionately known as Kitt, he has toured in New York and the Hamptons, San Francisco, Hong Kong and Singapore across his long career as an artist. Kitt works in a collage style by attaching materials such as sheet music, historic maps, poems, botanical diagrams and newspaper cuttings to his canvases, creating a background for his artwork. While initially seeing a coastal scene, often a West Country fishing port or harbour, on closer inspection the viewer discovers a whole world of text and illustration lying beneath the layers of paint, exciting the senses and taking them on a voyage of discovery and limitless adventure.
