Josie Appleby is a British contemporary impressionist painter inspired by animals, in particular equestrian subject matter. She often paints birds and British Wildlife including Peacock's, Partridges and Swallows, however she is best known for her stunning horse portraits where she captures a choreographed sense of movement with exquisitely places brushstrokes, teasing the subject out of the canvas in her impressive works.

Josie is a master artist and uses layers of oil paint to create texture in her work, skillfully adding depth with each layer to further enhance the sense of movement within her work.
