Case Study: How Art Makes a House Feel Like Home - A Client Transformation

Here at The Rose Gallery, we're incredibly proud of how our team works together to provide the best service for our customers, whether that's Tanya and Dinah's incredible knack for finding pieces you might like, or Philip's design expertise.

Here's one of our favourite stories of how we helped one of our customers transform their space.

My New Home is Giving Me a Lovely Hug

My New Home is Giving Me a Lovely Hug

We first met Karen at the London Horse Show in December, where a conversation about her new home quickly became something more.

She had found a piece she loved, the incredible Yearlings by Josie Appleby, but Karen wasn’t quite sure about sizing. Like many clients, she wanted to make sure it would feel right in her space, and that was where we knew we could really help.

As we spoke about Karen’s house and what she was looking for, the conversation became about more than a single artwork - it was about helping her shape a home.

Statement Pieces to Set the Tone

Following the show, Karen sent measurements and videos of her home via WhatsApp, and after talking with the team, we were able to start visualising the space together.

Philip visited her home in Norfolk with a larger Free Spirit artist proof to explore scale, and it immediately clicked. It was incredible to see how carefully chosen statement pieces could bring warmth, personality, and balance to each room of her new house.

Finding the Unexpected

Finding the Unexpected

One of the most valuable parts of an in-home visit is discovering opportunities that aren’t always obvious at first glance. Philip’s experience allows him to identify pieces that work beautifully in unexpected spaces - areas that might otherwise be overlooked instead add depth and interest throughout the home.

We love how this incredible storm - courtesy of Alison Johnson's Sunset Freight - brings interest to a corner, and Joe Galindo's squirrel Bonnie grabs your attention as you walk to the door.

Creating Focal Points

Creating Focal Points

Even challenging areas, such as this shallow space above a fireplace, can be a focal point with the right piece.

With Tanya’s support in building a tailored portfolio, we provided Karen with a range of artists and styles she might not have considered before. Together, we created special moments in the house that felt natural, balanced, and entirely personal.
