Jim Dowie

From his studio in Staffordshire Jim Dowie creates abstract artworks from Intersecting lines, depicting iconic faces in his recognizable style. Working as a fingerprint expert in forensics for some time Jim was struck by the artistic possibilities created by unique patterns of whorls and ridges. This lead him to explore the 'art of line'. Using acrylics, he experimented with linear abstract  patterns, exploring the concept of ridges and shadows, creating the perfect basis for expressive portraiture. He is gaining renown in the UK and Australia, receiving private clients both here and abroad.
