Artist Gary Walton creates fantasy coastal and seascape scenes in oil paint, with a whimsical style heavily inspired by the works of Salvador Dali, Walton started his career as a graphic designer painting for his own enjoyment to get away from his desk, he was able to focus on his art full-time when he won a publishing contract in 2004. Gary describes his work as whimsical, romantic and happy... fantasy combined with a twist of reality, a portrayal we very much agree with. Much of Gary's work depicts the shoreline of the English south coast, presented with his own unique eye. Bringing us landscapes, buildings and modes of transport we recognise, he plays with features and ideas to create new stories we want to explore.
