It’s possible to be a regular at The Rose Gallery and still rarely see Anita as she manages so much of the gallery’s comings and goings, busy in her domain. Those who do have the pleasure of meeting her, however, are likely to comment on the warmth of her welcome and the uplifting energy she brings, while also making “despatch central” feel calm, organised, and genuinely cheerful.
Anita’s world is packing, protecting, checking, and coordinating - making sure your artwork gets to you in the same condition it leaves the gallery. Anita makes sure all our pieces are looked after with the same care we’d expect for our own collection.

Morning: quality control, with a meticulous eye
Anita’s day starts with checking incoming stock, a role where her incredible attention to detail is priceless. As artworks arrive at the gallery, she assesses each one carefully making sure everything is in the perfect condition we’d expect - ready for our wall or yours. While this kind of work might not be visible from the gallery floor, it’s absolutely essential to how confidently we can curate, hang, and share new pieces with you.
Throughout it all, her warm welcome is the same for everyone: customers, delivery drivers, couriers, and the team as they coordinate logistics. Anita makes people feel looked after, because that’s just how she is.
Midday: packing with care (and a whole lot of heart!)
Not only does Anita get to enjoy unpacking, we’re fairly certain she takes just as much pleasure when wrapping and packing pieces to head off to customer homes. Once the paperwork and arrangements are in place, she’s in her element, preparing your artworks for shipment.
Every layer is considered. Every wrap is purposeful. Every artwork is prepared for delivery to a home where it will be unwrapped with excitement. Anita takes pride in the unseen details: how something is cushioned, how it’s secured, and how it’s presented for the ultimate ‘Wow’ moment. And when birthdays and anniversaries call for something extra, you can be sure she’ll go over and above.

Afternoon: protecting what matters - at every step
Anita doesn’t just handle logistics; she also supports the gallery’s curation process. Whether they’re in storage or being prepared for hanging, every piece needs proper protection. That means careful handling, thoughtful packaging during transitions, whatever it takes to make sure the gallery’s artworks are kept perfectly while they wait for their moment.

More fabulous moments: the most wonderful host
For attendees at our gallery evenings, Anita provides a warm welcome. Enjoying the role of host, she’ll be there to greet with a chilled glass whatever the weather outside. At our recent Doug Hyde event, Anita hosted the Hyde bar - paying tribute to Doug’s new artwork, See a Man About a Dog.
And it’s not just about the events, she brings the gallery to life in other ways all year round. With skilful green fingers and a gift for growing, Anita’s love of gardening also benefits the gallery as she looks after all our hanging baskets whatever the season. And as we move into the last quarter of the year, we’re grateful for all that she does to plan and decorate our Christmas Tree.
