Celebrating Love With Art That Captivates

Harriet and Adam’s Story

As the mother of the bride, Tanya was looking for the ideal gift for Harriet and Adam’s joyful celebration. Knowing the couple were wine lovers and inspired by the work of Henri Miller, she commissioned an artwork.

Together: The Perfect Present

Henri Miller Together - in the home, shown on the dining room

Not only focused on the wedding itself, the wine lovers, Harriet and Adam were looking forward to a honeymoon visiting the wine regions of South Africa. This interest in wine meant that choosing the wine for their celebration meal was important to the couple, who provided three wines on each table: a red, a white, and a Whispering Angel rosé.

Tanya knew that the perfect present for this occasion was an artwork that not only celebrated the day itself but also showed Harriet and Adam’s story - and their love of wine. She commissioned a piece by Henri Miller to do exactly that.

Sending details of the bottle in question to the artist, she suggested a colour palette of peach, greys, golds and whites, as well as personal touches, including the wedding date and names or initials of the couple. Once Tanya received the proof from Miller, she confirmed she was happy with his plan, and the artwork was created.

Not Just for Remembering, for Celebrating

The detail and colours are stunning, beautifully capturing the essence of the wine the couple love, while also containing hidden touches, texture, and highlights that make the piece pop.

Miller has subtly integrated Harriet and Adam’s names and initials as well as the wedding date, truly celebrating their moment. The black frame, which contrasts with the pale colours of the piece, has been drawn into the artwork with splashes of gold. Tanya told us:

“This was an excellent wedding present, and very well received. I was delighted the artist named the piece ‘Together’.”

The commission cost no more than any original from the artist, but it allowed Tanya to get a piece that is truly remarkable and dedicated to Harriet and Adam.
