Transforming Your Space With Art That Adds Heart
Beinn Bhracaigh’s Story
Hidden in the Scottish highlands, Beinn Bhracaigh (pronounced Ben Vracky) is a stunning Victorian guest house run by Adam and his husband. When they took over this amazing property, they inherited a beautiful blank canvas that needed the right artistic touches to make it truly feel like a home they could share with others.
Creating a Home Away from Home - in Style

Adam found The Rose Gallery by chance while searching online for a Doug Hyde print as a surprise birthday gift for his husband. “I chose a piece that he had admired in a local gallery, and I knew it would be perfect as a surprise for his birthday,” Adam explains.
The success of that first purchase led them back for a second Doug Hyde piece, and with this one, the Rose Gallery team went above and beyond, even arranging special, unmarked packaging from the artist’s studio to maintain the surprise.
The couple’s choice of artwork wasn’t just aesthetic. Coming from caring professions before running the guest house, they told us they have a deep connection with the emotional narratives in Hyde’s work. The two Doug Hyde pieces they love have been strategically placed in the reception and main halls, transforming their space.
“It feels like a home, not just a guest house,” Adam notes proudly. “Guests often comment that we’ve got the balance just right: homely and welcoming, yet well managed, clean, and elegant.”

From Blank Canvas to Stylish Stay: The Transformative Power of Art
The artwork has played a crucial role in creating the warm, inviting atmosphere they wanted for their Scottish retreat – adding character to their beautiful Victorian building while making sure both they and their guests feel genuinely at home.
“I’ve been the main point of contact with The Rose Gallery for both purchases, and they have always been incredibly friendly, approachable, and a pleasure to deal with.”
